Chalet shopping? Best bets for budget-minded buyers
The arrival of the white stuff gets most of us grumbling as we brace for another long season of frozen fingers and toes, digging out snowed-in cars and skidding on slippery sidewalks. Not so for those with a passion for winter sports, who look forward to carving fresh tracks though powder, Instagramming red-cheeked smiles at the top of a mountain and warming up afterward with mugs of cocoa or a little hot tub time.
One area stood out for price increases that were well above average: Mont-Tremblant, where the median price of both single-family homes and condos climbed more than 37 per cent from this year to last. Most expensive ski towns in QuebecThe ski towns with the highest median prices for single-family homes were Mont-Tremblant Village , Bromont and Orford . When it comes to condos, the most expensive markets were Mont-Tremblant Station , Bromont and St-Sauveur .
“Depending what you’re looking for, there are still good opportunities for people who are willing to go a little bit further than a ski in-ski out,” she said.
