A Popeyes restaurant is one of the proposed retailers for the Halifax Commons shopping center in Halifax Township.It’s in the early stages, but a developer wants to open a shopping center with Popeyes, Starbucks and Advance Auto Parts in one northern Dauphin County community.
U & ME 3, LLC is developing the Halifax Commons at 3616 Peters Mountain Road in Halifax Township with more than 11,900 square feet of retail space. The proposed site is located on the corner with South River Road near a Giant grocery store and Sheetz convenience store. U & ME 3 is proposing a 2,530 square-foot Popeyes with two drive-thru lanes, 2,488 square-foot Starbucks with one drive-thru lane and a 6,889 square-foot Advance Auto Parts store, according to preliminary/final land development plans.
Halifax Township secretary/treasurer Sara Glace stressed the plans are in the early stages of review and the developer submitted plans to the township. It was presented to the planning commission, she said, noting the plans haven’t progressed beyond that., members said the proposed shopping center is located at an unusual corner and noted concerns about access in and out of the complex that will need to be worked out.
