Shea Serrano, best-selling Texas author of books about hip-hop, basketball and movies, to debut 'Primo' TV series on Amazon FreeVee
San Antonio native Shea Serrano returned there after years living in Houston, where he wrote the best-selling books The Rap Yearbook and Basketball . His third book was published in October 2019, Movies Author Shea Serrano and TV producer Michael Schur have collaborated on"Primo," a new TV show that will make its debut on Amazon Freevee on May 19.
Serrano splits his time between San Antonio and the New York Times best-seller list, where his books like"Movies ,"Basketball " and"The Rap Year Book" have all settled for prolonged periods of time. He started writing for the Houston Press about 15 years ago, covering Houston's hip-hop scene. Serrano drew enough notice to earn a staff writer job at Grantland and moved with colleagues there to The Ringer.
As for"Primo," the Amazon description says Rafa"is at an inflection point, as three big life moments coincide: he and his friends are nearing the end of high school; he's pretty sure he just met the girl of his dreams; and he just found out he has a real chance to become the first person in his family to go to college.
