The family of 22-year-old Destiny Rennie, a Mi'kmaw woman who died last summer in a Nova Scotia hospital, joined supporters in calling for justice during a march.

A march was held Friday to honour and mourn the missing and murdered women from across the country and to call for justice for their families. Skye Bryden-Blom reports.

Friday’s walk was organized to coincide with the National Day of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Gender Diverse People in order to amplify the call for justice.Speakers at the march also brought attention to the need for systemic change within the health-care system in regard to Indigenous people.
