Help drive Alaska election coverage this year by joining journalists at one of five listening sessions happening online and in-person around Anchorage.
Voters cast their ballots at a polling place located inside O’Malley Elementary School on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022 in Anchorage.
With a new voting system this year, plus a full slate of high-profile offices and a constitutional convention question on the November ballot, there’s a lot for Alaska voters to take in this election cycle. The Anchorage Daily News is collaborating with Alaska Public Media and other Alaska news organizations to produce elections coverage that’s driven by voters and and centered around your needs. As part of that effort, you’re invited to participate in listening sessions this month, happening virtually and in-person around Anchorage.
The sessions will include short discussions about ranked choice voting and the ballot question on a constitutional convention, plus small group talks about voters’ priorities, needs and concerns. These listening sessions are also an opportunity to meet local journalists and other community members.
To attend a virtual session, you must register on Zoom. For in-person sessions, RSVPs are recommended but not required. Dinner and activities for children will be provided at the in-person sessions. All sessions are free to attend.
