In a cordial ideological clash, both candidates showed some 'Shaker Love.'
The official municipal corporate seal for Shaker Heights is located on the second floor of City Hall, just down from the mayor's office, Scott Shelfer squaring off against incumbent David Weiss on Nov. 7. The two took part in a forum hosted earlier this month by the Shaker chapter of the League of Women Voters.
“In every one of these hard conversations we’re going to have, that’s how we want to approach it, with that loving” sense that residents share for their town, Shelfer said. “We are at an inflection point in terms of what happens with the school bond issue in November,” Weiss said, explaining that the city remains extremely challenged on available space in the fact that it’s already “built-out.”
