Juno Award-winning rapper Shad will teach two hip-hop-themed university courses this fall, one at Wilfrid Laurier and another at the University of Toronto.
This fall, rapper Shad will add professor to his resumé as he heads a special course at Wilfrid Laurier University titledat Laurier last year. It was there, he explained to CBC Music, that he "basically tried to download everything I know through a range of events," which eventually led to him being asked to develop a course for this year's fall semester.
" always daunting trying something new, but I like a new experience," he added. "I also like connecting with young people at that stage in life. I still remember getting some gems of real world wisdom in the classroom around that time so that's what I'm hoping I can pass on more than anything.", will "delve into the unique approaches to poetry, performance, and production found in hip-hop music.
In addition to his busy teaching schedule, Shad also notes that he has been working on new music including an EP and an album, noting "it's gonna be a busy fall!" Shad's last full-length album was 2021's
