Preventing runs is the name of the game. And the Giants are failing at it right now.
“The whole trip was very grindy, I guess. It’s been a mental grind, it’s been a physical grind. I think three-quarters of our clubhouse has the s—ts,” pitcher Logan Webb said Wednesday. “It’s been a mental and physical grind. It’ll be good to get back home, for sure. Hopefully the s—ts go away and will be better in a couple days.”
It’s no mystery what happened: Before gutting out a series win in Houston, the Giants were in Mexico City for a two-game set against the Padres. That was followed up with the indignity of not even being able to go straight back to their home toilets.
