Within two days, police were alerted to two other similar attacks and on April 3 three Metrotown security guards detained McCorriston after he attempted to rob an elderly couple at a bank in the Metrotown area. Burnaby RCMP’s high risk offender unit, the Vancouver Police Department and Metro Vancouver Transit Police investigated and found McCorriston was linked to similar attacks in Vancouver.
On June 7, 2022 McCorriston was charged with seven counts of sexual assault, two counts of theft, one of assault and one of performing an indecent act — to which he pleaded guilty.Our in-depth journalism is possible thanks to the support of our subscribers.
