The project will likely be completed by the end of March
There are several components to the project, including new manholes and repaving the affected section of Graham Avenue, which is scheduled for the Spring.
The City of Terrace notes that in order to safely maintain sewer operations, they need to run pumps and generators 24 hours a day. They acknowledge that this may cause slight noise disturbances. At times, traffic in the area on the 5100 block of Graham Avenue will also need to be rerouted, likely onto Mills Street and Apple Street. Residents in the area have already been notified.
The project is partly funded through the Northwest B.C. Resource Benefits Alliance Agreement with the Province of B.C. The City was awarded $35 million over five years to use for the renewal or replacement fo capital assets, as well as the construction of infrastructure, such as sewers, roads, water and other amenities.
"We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we make this important upgrade to City infrastructure," wrote the City on their Facebook page.
