Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two received a Golden Globe nomination for best motion picture, but he did not receive a directorial nod for his achievements in adapting Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic Dune. Villeneuve attends the 34th Annual Gotham Film Awards in New York on Dec. 2.A couple of celebrated Canadians were left out in the cold when the Golden Globes announced their nominations for the best in film and television on Monday morning.
Actors representing the maple leaf fared better. Vancouver’s Gabriel LaBelle scored a nomination in the comedy category for his lead performance in Jason Reitman’s, in which he plays another Canadian, Lorne Michaels. Another B.C. native, Pamela Anderson, is recognized in the drama section for her work in Gia Coppola’sShe stars as a performer struggling to figure out her next act when the curtains close on her stage show.
