Police are urging commuters to avoid the westbound lanes of Highway 1 in Burnaby after a serious multi-vehicle collision early Tuesday morning.
He said five vehicles were involved in the crash and five people were transported to hospital, three with minor injuries and two in serious condition. While it is still early in the investigation, he said impairment is not believed to have been a contributing factor.
