In her August cover story with Harper's BAZAAR, Serena Williams looks back at the controversy surrounding the 2018 U.S. Open, when she called the umpire a"thief" for citing her with three violations, which ultimately caused her to lose the women's singles finals match against 20-year-old wunderkind, Naomi Osaka.
Williams was irritated by the way she was treated at the net."Every night, as I would try to go to sleep, unresolved questions ran through my mind in a never-ending loop: How can you take a game away from me in the final of a Grand Slam?" she reflects in BAZAAR.
