After a temporary waiver of a liquor law allowed these establishments to sell what some call “roadies” or cocktails to go expired, bars and restaurants have been urging lawmakers to once again let them sell them.

At Wednesday’s community, economic, and recreational development committee hearing, pub owner Thomas Tyler, president of the Pennsylvania Licensed Beverage and Tavern Association, listed this as one ofto help prop up the state’s ailing restaurant and bars still trying to recover from the pandemic’s impact on their businesses.
“During the Covid-19 restrictions, this gave our members a small opportunity to maintain cash flow and expand offerings, without any increase in the incidence of liquor related accidents or arrests,” Tyler said.
