The Texas senator and Representative Paul Gosar are in self-imposed quarantine after meeting someone with Covid-19 at a Washington political conference.

... [+]: Senator Ted Cruz is self-isolating at his Texas home this week after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19, in a sign that the coronavirus has reached Capitol Hill.

Cruz said: “I’m not experiencing any symptoms, and I feel fine and healthy. Given that the . . . average incubation period is five to six days, that the interaction was for less than a minute, and that I have no current symptoms, the medical authorities have advised me that the odds of transmission from the other individual to me was very low.”

“Out of an abundance of caution . . . I have decided to remain at my home in Texas this week, until a full 14 days have passed since the CPAC interaction,” he added.
