Sen. Rand Paul said since he already had coronavirus, he could not contract it again or spread it to others — claims that experts say are still unproven.
WASHINGTON – As the Senate reconvened this week for the first time in more than a month, many lawmakers expressed varying levels of anxiety and concern for their health as coronavirus continues to ravage the country.
While most U.S. senators donned face masks while walking in the halls, including some with patterns representing their states, at least two chose not to wear face coverings in the U.S. Capitol: Republican Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin."I wear a mask when I go into grocery stores, that type of thing," he told Politico."I think around here we probably won't have to. They're not pleasant to wear, are they?".
"I have immunity. I've already had the virus so I can't get it again and I can't give it to anybody," he said Tuesday at the Capitol.
