Sen. Jake Anderegg announced Thursday he was resigning from the Utah Legislature.
Sen. Jacob Anderegg, R-Lehi, during a hearing on HB302, a controversial bill on transgender athletics, by the Senate Health and Human Services Standing Committee at the state Capitol in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. Anderegg announced on Sept. 7, 2023 that he would be leaving the Utah Legislature.After more than a decade in the Utah Legislature, Sen. Jake Anderegg, R-Lehi, is stepping down next month.
“As Utahns, we rightfully pride ourselves on a part-time legislature, and it’s one of the reasons Utah is the best-managed state in the nation. But, with that comes the very real challenge of balancing public service with a professional career,” Anderegg wrote.
