County Supervisor Steve Gallardo, the five-member board's lone Democrat, said in a statement that the board would announce the start of the process in the next few days.

Robbie Sherwood, spokesman for House Democrats, said it will be up to the Democratic Party to coordinate any strategy for the write-in process so it doesn't become a"free-for-all."
