We chat with SecretInvasion director aliselim about peeling back the layers of Nick Fury, collaborating with Marvel, and what inspired the new MCU series:
Secret Invasion follows Nick Fury as he returns to Earth and discovers a global conspiracy set in motion by a number of disgruntled Skrull. Fury, along with his allies Talos and Marai Hill, work to uncover this plot and stop the Skrull before they can fully infiltrate positions of power around the world. Now more than ever, the question of who can be trusted is integral to the growing danger and suspicion that anyone could be a Skrull in disguise.
Ali Selim on Secret Invasion Screen Rant: I love Secret Invasion! I love that it's grounded in the espionage side of the MCU. In adapting the story from the comics to the screen how did you decide what to pull and what to avoid from the comics? This is really a human story set in a world of superheroes and aliens. Can you talk about focusing on the human element of this story with Nick Fury? But not just Nick Fury, but also the human element in the Skrulls?
