Benjamin Marin Sr., 69, died more than a month after he was shot outside an ice cream shop in Northridge.

“What comes to all of our minds is that it was just a senseless act of violence. For it to happen in broad daylight, someone offended over some graffiti, it’s just ... I don’t know,” Smith said.Suspect Jamal Jackson, 24, had tagged a Northridge ice cream shop with gang members and took offense when he saw people painting over it, LAPD said.
