“I struggle to think how anyone takes care of their ward and votes on city issues the way we do and does it in a part-time manner. What this does is it changes it so people know that the alderperson job is a full-time one and it bars certain outside jobs … so people can only focus on the job that they got elected to do,” Vasquez told the Tribune Wednesday.Aldermanic salaries range from $115,560 to $142,776, according to the city’s employee database.
