Two bodies were recovered after a mudslide swept a home off its foundation in Lions Bay, B.C., during a powerful windstorm.

Search crews in Lions Bay, B.C., have recovered the body of a second person who was reported missing after a mudslide swept a home off its foundation one week earlier. Barbara Enns was found on Saturday, Lions Bay Mayor Ken Berry said in a letter to residents. Her husband, David Enns, was found on December 15. “This is a profound loss for the family, friends, neighbours and all of the Village of Lions Bay residents,” Mr. Berry wrote.

But, the report said, Lions Bay did not have an overall picture of the risks posed to the community, which was established before such threats were regularly considered by its city hall. Mr. Berry had said last week that he was not familiar with that report. An investigation into the cause of the mudslide is under way. On Sunday, B.C
