Toronto police have apprehended a second suspect and lodged additional charges in a sophisticated ticket scam targeting Taylor Swift fans, resulting in losses of nearly $70,000.

Toronto police have made a second arrest and added more charges in connection with a Taylor Swift ticket scam that defrauded fans of nearly $70,000. A 56-year-old man from Burlington has been charged with 19 counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, according to a news release issued Wednesday. Police also added further charges against a 44-year-old Burlington woman who was arrested in November.

She now faces eight counts each of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, in addition to charges of fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. In November, the woman was initially charged with 32 counts each of fraud under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, along with one count each of fraud over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Police say the woman used the alias 'Denise Blackhawk' while selling tickets on Facebook Marketplace. Victims would e-transfer her agreed-upon amounts for the tickets, believing they would be sent closer to the concert date. However, fans never received the tickets. 'When victims requested their money back, the accused alleged that the money was gone,' police stated in a news release in November. Both the woman and the man are scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Police have not disclosed any information regarding their relationship. Police believe there may be more victims and urge anyone from Toronto who may have been scammed to contact authorities or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers
