TFC signed Spanish striker Jesus Jimenez for $934,927 per season at the forward position. The club’s other veteran forward is fifth- year TFC man Ayo Akinola, who made $671,875. Giovinco, 35, insisted he could get match fit with a solid month of training and believes he would be a great fit with his countrymen on the Toronto roster. “I don’t know 100%, but this could be a reason,” he said. “If I sue you, why you should be friends of me? Something is strange. The native of Turin, who made 23 appearances for the Italian national team between 2011-2015, was named the MLS MVP during his first season in Toronto and was an all-star in each of his seasons with the Reds.
