MILLBROOK, N.S. — As the third anniversary of Douglas Bert Knockwood’s murder approaches, Mounties in Nova Scotia say they are still actively searching for his accused killer, Valdo Pauyo.
The RCMP believe that Pauyo, commonly known as C.J., fled Nova Scotia after killing 42-year-old Knockwood in his Millbrook First Nation home on July 12, 2021.RCMP searching for man charged in Millbrook murder The two men allegedly served time together in a Quebec prison and, according to people close to Knockwood, became close friends when Pauyo, a 29-year-old Haitian refugee by way of Montreal, moved to Nova Scotia in 2020.
The RCMP are working with other police agencies in the search for the accused, who is believed to have cut off his dreadlocks since fleeing the province. The most recent description has him with black hair and brown eyes, standing between five-foot-seven and five-foot-nine and weighing 210 pounds.If seen, the police say not to approach Pauyo and contact the nearest police agency immediately.
