SEARCH CONTINUES - A search and rescue effort continued for the third day Wednesday morning for a missing woman who may have fallen into the Weber River.
Weber Fire District officials say they received a 911 call around 5:40 p.m. Monday reporting a possible drowning. The missing woman in her 20s was reported to have fallen in near the city of Uintah.
The district sent first responders to different locations along the Weber River to watch for the woman. They were assisted by police and fire departments from across Weber County and Davis County. Drones and kayak rescue teams aided in the search Monday night and all day Tuesday, which had to be cut short once the sun set due to the lack of light.
“We’ve got multiple volunteers out... we have the drone that has been flying up and down. We are just continuing to search up and down the river where we’re at right now,” said Sgt. Paul Babinski with the Weber County Sheriff's Office. Officials are also using a helicopter to assist in the search, which is keeping an eye on the river and guiding crews in the water.FOX 13 News will update this story as more information becomes available.
