But — soon enough — the same can’t be said of his off-the-field life, where the three-time CFL all-star certainly won’t be the centre of attention.With the baby — a girl — for first-time parents Sean and Stephanie due any day, that could throw McEwen’s status up in the air for Friday night’s do-or-die affair featuring the Stamps against the incoming Saskatchewan Roughriders at McMahon Stadium .
It’s the same issue that sidelined McEwen for their last loss — the latest of four straight keeping the Stamps from catching the also-slumping Roughriders — against the host Hamilton Tigers. The 23-year-old was a 2022 second-round draft pick by the Montreal Alouettes but let go by that club when it finalized its roster this June, allowing the Stamps to add the 6-foot-2, 299-pounder to their practice roster.
“But we also have to make sure Rodeem is ready to go. Rodeem showed well , as well. He showed that he can play in this league.”
