School counselors: Building better humans and creating positive change paid civicnation
with good judgement and integrity. This is something school counselors work to change. We play a major role in building good character and fostering empathy within and among our students. We don’t just educate the mind; we help students transform mindsets, develop good habits, and improve behaviors. Our school counseling programs directly impact students and their actions, as evidenced in our quantitative and qualitative school data year after year.
Some of these ambassadors had never been chosen to participate in school projects, and even though they were surprised by the invitation to be a leader in the event, they flourished in their task. They came in early, stayed late and gave their all to make our project a success. These kids took pride in their role and what resulted was an amazing experience for our entire student body, our community and the residence we partnered with.
