Laura decided to transform her kitchen using budget materials including Wilko paint
Renovating your kitchen is notoriously costly but one mum-of-four has shared how she saved a whopping £10,000 on her kitchen makeover by using budget materials and sanding down her existing worktops.
READ MORE : Kids can eat free or for £1 at Asda, Morrisons, Dunelm and more during the summer holidays Lauren continued to cut costs by using tile paint from budget store Wilko, keeping her original worktops instead of getting new ones fitted and repurposing some old shelves from the garage. "We sanded them down and oiled them with the leftover Danish oil from the worktops. This saved us around £30. Instead of changing the radiator we spray painted it with Rust-Oleum stove and BBQ paint. We already had all the appliances, so there was no extra cost for those. We plan to do the floor at a later date."
