The Sault College Cougars Men’s Hockey team will face off against the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds in the annual Winter Classic on January 11th at the Northern Community Centre.
The Sault College Cougars Men’s Hockey team will host the Wisconsin-Eau Clarie Blugolds in the annual Winter Classic on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Northern Community Centre. The Cougars enter the second half of the season ranked 7th in their conference with a 15-6-0 record. They will look to build on this start as they vie for a spot at the National Championship tournament, a news release said.
The Winter Classic, now in its fifth year, showcases some of the best varsity athletics the Sault has to offer, as well as top-tier college hockey,’ said Paul Orazietti, director of athletics & student experience. “We are excited to welcome the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to the Winter Classic. Wisconsin presents a formidable challenge for our men's hockey team, and we look forward to filling the NCC Arena with students and community supporters to help propel our team to victory.' Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased in advance of the game at the Athletics Office located in the Health & Wellness Centre or at the door. Sault College students and children under 12 are free
