One woman was injured; police arrested a man on aggravated assault charges.
A Black Friday fight at Ingram Park Mall escalated into shots fired, a woman in the hospital and an arrest,the San Antonio Police Department said Saturday.
According to police, a fight that started in the mall continued outside in the parking lot, where two males opened fire about 6 p.m. on a 19-year-old woman and her 21-year-old boyfriend before fleeing the scene. Officers responding to a call about a shooting in progress found the woman with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to her “left arm and torso area” in a parking lot near a JCPenney, the police said in a news release. She was taken to a hospital.The gunshots also hit a 16-year-old woman’s car, according to police.
Police detained a 21-year-old man near the scene of the shooting. He has been arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct. Friday evening, the SAPD posted on Twitter that the shooting was “an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.”
