The Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign will be based in both D.C. and Vermont
The Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign is planning to base its team in dual headquarters, according to one of his top strategists.
One of Sanders’ operations will be in his hometown of Burlington, Vt., where he based his first presidential campaign. The Vermont senator served as mayor there for eight years in the 1980s.“Co-locating our headquarters in Vermont and Washington, D.C., allows us to attract the most talented staff and maximize travel efficiency,” said Jeff Weaver, a senior adviser to Sanders who served as his campaign manager in 2016.
Sanders already has the D.C. space up and running, while a 2020 Burlington headquarters has not yet opened, the campaign said.
