The two-day 8A girls tournament is over and the Lady Tigers were tops for the season.

San Jacinto Intermediate's 8A girls basketball team was so convincing, so effective, so business-like in their 8A postseason championship game that head coach Jordan Wilson paused her coaching duties just long enough to get a little boy a Band-aid.The Lady Tigers completed a 3-0 postseason tournament record by pounding South Houston Intermediate 39-9 at Queens Intermediate School Tuesday night.

"They've been drilling for two years and I couldn't be more proud of them. I've had almost the exact same team for the last two years," Wilson said."We went from a shaky season last year to going undefeated in zone and being district champs. It was an amazing group to coach." Yes, San Jacinto wasn't perfect, but when they started looking a little ragged, Wilson shouted"Clean it up.""We had an amazing group of defenders and shooters this year," Wilson said.
