If convicted, Collier Gwin could face up to six months in county jail and a $2,000 fine.

In interviews with the media, Gwin claimed he was attempting to clean the sidewalk on which the woman was sitting when she became belligerent and started screaming at him. He also said the woman had been in front of his building and adjacent businesses for almost two weeks and added that he had called the San Francisco Police Department up to 25 times seeking assistance. He said the woman was told by officers that morning that she needed to move.

The district attorney’s office said the woman in the video did not pursue charges against Gwin but that the police department’s investigation had gathered enough evidence to warrant a misdemeanor battery charge. The district attorney’s office said an arraignment will be scheduled once Gwin is arrested and cited.
