Headed by a co-founder of FanDuel, Hone was based in San Francisco but moved its headquarters to North County
said Tuesday it has raised $30 million in a second round of venture capital funding led by 3L Capital, with participation from Invus Opportunities fund and existing investors.
Tom Griffiths, co-founder and chief executive of Hone, moved to North County when he started a family and sought a more suburban lifestyle, according to a company spokesperson. Hone has about 10 employees based in the greater San Diego area. Griffiths spent 10 years as a co-founder and chief product officer of New York-based online gambling outfit FanDuel before starting Hone.
“Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, the shift to hybrid work is moving the massive market for corporate learning, development, and training online,” said Anton Zietsman, a partner at 3L Capital, in a statement. “With its focus on live, virtual, and small-group classes facilitated by world-class coaches, Hone is well positioned to take share from legacy vendors who have built their businesses on in-person programs.
