The National Weather Service says that residual cold, dry air from the Alaskan storm will settle to the surface, dragging down overnight temperatures
The temperature will fall significantly below average before dawn on Thursday and Friday across San Diego County due to the cold air left behind by the Alaskan storm that drenched most of the region, says the National Weather Service.
Forecasters estimate that temperatures will be 7 to 12 degrees below normal early Thursday and nearly the same on Friday. The mountains are expected to drop into the upper 20s while Julian drops to 33, Ramona falls to 34, El Cajon goes to 41 and Oceanside ends up in the 45- to 46-degree level. San Diego will fall to 47 to 48 degrees before dawn Thursday. That’s six to seven degrees below average.The weather service says the temperature will be 57 degrees at 6 p.m. Wednesday when the gates open at Petco Park for the Elton John concert. By the time he goes on stage at 8 p.m., the temperature will be 54 to 55.
