The sweltering heat is making it difficult for people to get a good night's sleep
Did you have trouble sleeping on Saturday night? So did countless others due to the heat wave, now entering its sixth day.
The highest minimum temperatures set records overnight in many places, notably in Escondido, where the temperature didn’t go below 78. That’s one degree warmer than the record for September 3, previously set in 2007, according to the National Weather Service. San Diego didn’t go below 74, tying the record for the date, set in 2007. Ramona and Lake Cuyamaca didn’t go below 71. Cuyamaca was six degrees warmer than the previous record, set in 2017. Ramona was one degree above the record, set in 2007.At 7 a.m. Sunday, the temperature had already reached 88 at San Diego International Airport, Montgomery Field, Lemon Grove, and La Jolla. Brown Field and Carlsbad were 87, and Miramar MCAS was 86.
