San Antonio International Airport has joined many across the country in dropping its mask mandate after a federal judge in Florida ruled Monday that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention overstepped its authority when it issued the requirement for planes and other forms of public transportation.Because of the ruling, the Transportation Security Administration will no longer enforce the mask mandate.

Major airlines, including Delta, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines all released statements after the ruling that masks are now optional on their flights. In accordance with today’s federal court ruling to overturn the mask mandate in airports and the Transportation Security Administration’s decision to rescind the mask directives, masks are no longer required at the San Antonio International Airport.
