The update Galaxy S23 Ultra owners have been waiting for.
Higher-resolution images generate larger files and typically take longer to process, so capturing and saving 50-megapixel and 200-megapixel photos in a responsive manner, presents a significant challenge for Samsung.app, available for download in the Galaxy Store, to improve the responsiveness of the shutter button. However, the recent update seems to improve performance without the need for such tweaks.
Anyone suffering from slow shutter response should download the new update or, if it’s not available in your region yet, hang tight in the knowledge that improvements are on the way. It’s great to see Samsung fixing issues quickly through software updates but, unfortunately for Samsung, this release has come only after initial reviews, such as, commented negatively on the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s shutter responsiveness and scored it accordingly.
Dxomark’s Galaxy S23 Ultra scores for example, are now unlikely to be changed, leaving the Samsung flagship down in 10th place behind last year’s Apple iPhone 13 Pro - a position it no-longer appears to deserve.
