The Salvation Army wants to support 41 Burnaby students with backpacks and school supplies.
The Salvation Army is holding a donation drive for backpacks and school supplies to distribute to Burnaby children in need.
Last September, the Salvation Army supported 10 children through the back-to-school backpack and school supply drive, and this year the demand has "increased tremendously," said Beatriz Acevedo-Arbizu, community engagement coordinator, in a news release.With the rising cost of living and the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, there's more families coming to the Salvation Army for support, according to the release.
The organization wants to collect backpacks and school supplies for 15 teen girls and 16 boys in grades 4 to 7 and 10 girls in grades 4 to 7.The Salvation Army will distribute the donations to students at Burnaby's Marlborough Elementary School and to girls participating in You can get more information by emailing [email protected] or calling 236-992-7416.
