As millions of Quebecers begin their vacations, the Quebec branch of the Lifesaving Society is offering tips on how to stay safe while enjoying the water.

WATCH: As summer vacation begins in earnest for many people in Quebec, so does concerns about drowning. In fact, national drowning prevention week kicked off on Sunday, and as Felicia Parrillo reports, experts suggest these tips and advice can help keep you safe in the water.As Quebecers kickstart their vacations, many are gathering around pools and different bodies of water to enjoy the sunny weather.

So far this year, 32 Quebecers have lost their lives in drowning incidents, although that total is down from 44 at this time last year.
