“As my colleague just said, echoing it is not a question of whether we do a national inquiry into safe sport, it is a question of how we do it,” Housefather tweeted. “This is so important to move forward on.”
“No, which I actually find shocking,” Shore said. “They should be, because I would think coaches and administrators are on high alert, but the number of current examples of egregious behaviour hasn’t slowed.” Their voice echoes that of gymnasts, now more than 700 of them, who signed an open letter demanding an inquiry.
Their passion for the cause has endured endless frustrations, and been rekindled by important victories.
