“That was probably the worst axel I did all weekend,” Sadovsky said before breaking out in laughter. “But that does happen sometimes, can't beat myself up too much.” The free program is scheduled for Saturday. World champions Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps competed in the pairs short program later Friday.
The 20-year-old Rakic, from Burnaby, B.C., said he’s been recovering from a sickness the past 15 days.
