Our thoughts are with Jackson's loved ones
A baby boy died in hospital five months after birth, an inquest has heard. Jackson Walters was identified by his mum Mrs Walters at the King's Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield.
He was born on June 17 last year, and sadly died five months later on December 1. A inquest opened to determine whether there is an "unnatural element" for Jackson's death. Opening the inquest on Friday, July 15, Assistant Coroner for Nottinghamshire Fiona Gingell said: "I have reasonable suspicion that there is an unnatural element for his death". The hearing took place at the Council House in Nottingham.The inquest has been adjourned for the completion of further inquiries, with it to resume on a date to be fixed. Miss Gingell added: "In accordance to my statutory duty I have opened an inquest.
"I want to express my sincere condolences to Jackson's family and friends in relation to their sad loss." Miss Gingell opened a number of inquests on Friday. The inquest into a 23-year-old man who was identified by his grandmother at his home address will also be examined. The hearing has been adjourned for the completion of further inquiries.
