KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Barisan Nasional's component party MCA acknowledges the going is tough for its four candidates, but they are determined to fight on.

"For the candidates including myself, we are still struggling to win the hearts of the people in our constituency, ” said Sabah MCA chief Lu Yen Tung after launching his simple two-point manifesto here Sunday .

For his manifesto, Lu pledged to address the flood woes and improve economic activities, which includes creating more job opportunities for his constituents. As for the economy, he plans to set up mini cultural centres that provide among others, traditional dishes for local and foreign tourists.MCA, he added, would assist in getting start-up grants from the relevant government departments and agencies, as well as investors.

"However, when they win, they still go looking to the Federal Government for funding," he said, adding such an act is a hypocritical move.
