The Saanich municipality in Canada is considering a ban on retractable leashes for dogs due to safety concerns. The council believes that these leashes pose a danger to both people, pets, and the environment. The ban will require dog owners to use a two-meter leash when visiting parks in the municipality. While some retailers are disappointed with the decision, the council is determined to prioritize safety.
