Multiple construction projects in Saanich are experiencing delays, affecting traffic flow on several roads. Expect single-lane alternating traffic on Reynolds Road and Admirals Road, with full closures on Christmas Avenue and Kremlin Street. Project end dates have been pushed back, potentially causing disruptions for commuters.
The District of Saanich says construction work is ongoing at multiple locations, with some projects now running beyond their original end dates. On Reynolds Road, between Cedar Hill Cross Road and Cumberland Road, single-lane alternating traffic remains in place from 8:30 a.
m. to 3:30 p.m. The work, which began in January, was most recently scheduled to end April 3 but has now been extended to April 10. Full road closures are also continuing in the area of Christmas Avenue and Kremlin Street, where construction has shut down vehicle access around the clock. That closure, originally set to wrap up earlier this month, is now expected to remain in place until April 17. Nearby, Kremlin Street between Kisber Avenue and Midgard Avenue is also affected by overnight closures from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m., though local and emergency vehicle access is being maintained. That work has also been extended to April 17. Meanwhile, along Admirals Road between Cowper Street and Arundel Drive, drivers should expect single-lane alternating traffic due to water service upgrades. That project is scheduled to continue weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until April 17. Traffic control personnel and signage are in place at all locations, and drivers are being asked to follow directions and plan for delays.Jeff Lawrence is a Digital News Editor for CHEKNews.ca.
