The S&P 500 index was down 30.62 points at 5,275.42, while the Nasdaq composite was down 61.42 points at 16,958.46.The July crude contract was down 27 cents at US$79.56 per barrel and the July natural gas contract was down 13 cents at US$2.70 per mmBTU.
