The group, led by Al Tylis, co-chairman of Mexican club Necaxa, and Sam Porter, a Necaxa board member, aims to strengthen La Equidad across all aspects, including its core team and female team.
Other notable investors include actress Eva Longoria, baseball pitcher Justin Verlander, and his wife, actress Kate Upton. Tylis and Porter will assume the roles of co-presidents of the board of directors at La Equidad, according to the club's official statement.Established in the 1980s, La Equidad plays its home matches at the Metropolitano Stadium, which has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. The club finished its latest league campaign in 13th place.
