Adley Rutschmann gave Baltimore the lead with a three-run double in the seventh inning in the Orioles' 6-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night.
The Orioles tagged the Chicago bullpen for all six runs to win for the fourth time in their last five outings.
The Orioles trailed 3-0 after six, but rallied with four runs in the seventh, capped by Rutschman's three-run hit off reliever Reynaldo López that gave them the lead for good. "I don't want to say we just beat ourselves," White Sox starter Mike Clevinger said, "but it feels like every game we kind of feel like we beat ourselves."
Clevinger allowed just one hit while striking out five and walking five in the first six for the White Sox, but the comeback erased his shot at winning for the third time in as many starts.Wells lasted 5 1/3 innings for Baltimore after giving up five hits and three runs, including Burger's second homer of the season.White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf also is the majority owner of the NBA's Bulls, who were eliminated from postseason play about an hour before the final pitch.
